Welcome

Howdy and welcome to the Elizabeth McCormick Photography blog. I'm Elizabeth, an on location photographer of babies, children and families. I am located in Wilmington, Delaware, however, I do travel to locations such as Baltimore all the way up to the NJ shore.

Through this blog I hope to give you a glimpse of what I've been up to and a better idea of who I am. You'll see sneak peeks of sessions and also tidbits into my own personal wild and crazy life.

Thanks for visiting. I hope you enjoy your time here!

Hot, Hot, Hot!

Funny how the seasons seem to change overnight. I was just shoveling snow and WHAM, it’s summer. 90 degrees out, sticky and humid - what happened to spring! I had a terrific family in front of my camera on Memorial Day (many thanks go out all the kind and brave soldiers). The twins kept me on my toes and big sister was a huge help wrangling the little ones. Are you ready for the cuteness?Lots of giggles, but I did catch big sister in a rare calm and quiet moment.

What a fabulous family! So much fun. Hope you enjoyed the sneak peek.

Finally

This was one tough session to schedule. The weather simply would not cooperate. First it was too rainy, then too windy, next add a thunderstorm in there… Finally, a glorious day! This threesome definitely kept me on my toes. First up, big sister looking completely angelic for her Communion Day.

Some of you might remember this cutie patootie.Fast forward one year and she’s hollering “LOOK AT ME”! Got to keep up with her siblings.

Right smack in between the lovely sisters is this fine-looking lad! I love how the late day sun makes his eyes sparkle.
Ahh, togetherness!

Handsome

Still the season for First Communions. I have been so fortunate to have the most well behaved and wonderful kiddos in front of my lens. They are awfully good lookin’ as well! This young man was no exception. This first image was taken to compliment a portrait of big sister’s communion as they will hang next to one another. Ahh, the benefits of a custom photographer!Time for a quick change and then off for some more casual photographs. Here is the ever so helpful (and stunning) big sister.

What a fun afternoon! More images to come…

Lovely

Adorable, gorgeous, sweet, pretty, beautiful…. The list could go on and on in describing this little lady all dressed up for her First Communion.

Can’t leave out big brother. Those eyes, those amazing eyes!

I had the pleasure of having the whole good-looking family in front of my camera too!

Congratulations little sister! And a huge Happy Birthday goes out to big brother who just made the major milestone of hitting double digits! Hope you enjoyed your sneak peek. Many more images to come.

Congratulations Drew!

I am in the middle of First Communion season and photographed yet another one of my all time favorite families. It always amazes me how kiddos I see on a regular basis (usually covered in mud and boo-boos) can clean up so smashingly. Drew is no exception. Ever so handsome in his smart suit and so proud of his latest accomplishment. After years of pestering, I finally got the whole awesome family in front of my lens too!

What out GQ - Drew is ready. Congratulations!

Sharp Dressed Man

I had the pleasure of photographing one of my favorite families for big brother’s First Communion. What a handsome fellow! I couldn’t have asked for a better day or subject.
It’s not hard to see where the good looks come from - the whole family is gorgeous (and FUN too). Congratulations Max!

It’s a Beautiful Day

Don’t worry Bono, we didn’t “let it get away”. I’m out of hibernation and I couldn’t have picked a better day or a more fabulous family to photograph. I had the pleasure of capturing big sister for her First Communion last year and now it was little sister’s turn. These two crack me up!

Had to do an image appropriate for this special occasion. However, this next one shows off her spunky nature.Big sister is so sweet and more gorgeous than ever!

Grandmom was in town for the big event and jumped in a few of the shots. What a fun-loving family! Congratulations little sister!

Mr. Pickles

I took a brief break from hibernation to photograph this wonderful newborn and his siblings. What a fabulous family! I was fortunate to have a very helpful six year old as my assistant. She choose all of the hats we used in the session and sung most beautiful song help her brother snooze. Little man did not like being naked, but was quite comfy in this cocoon. My lovely assistant noted that he looked just like a pickle!

Little brother is not the youngest anymore, but still just as adorable as ever.

Now the handsome oldest brother.

Thank you lovely assistant!Yup, baby makes four! Congratulations on the latest addition. Best of luck getting a good night’s rest! Many more images to come.

Happy 2010!

Happy Holidays and best wishes for the new year. What a whirlwind of a season! I hope you were able to enjoy some quality time with loved ones. The McCormicks finally took down the Christmas tree this afternoon (which was quite a fire hazard) and put the house back in order.

Looking back, 2009 was a fabulous year. I met so many new & interesting families and reconnected with those I’ve been photographing for years. I truly amazes me how fleeting childhood is. Toddlers out growing their baby pudge, missing front teeth, moving from Elmo to Star Wars, a brand new set of glasses/braces… It seems to all happen in a blur.

I have spend the last 4 months sprinting a marathon and am now going into hibernation. I am simply burnt out. I am going to take a bit of time off to reconnect with my family, recharge my creativity and reorganize all the behind the scenes operations that help my business run well. I was in Nashville earlier this week at Imaging, the Professional Photographers of America annual convention. I was wonderful seeing old buddies, making new friends and learning from the top dogs in the industry. I also attended the massive trade show and found some fantastic new products I will be introducing in my blog over the next few months.

This bear is checking out for a long winter’s nap. See you in the spring!

Two Peas in a Pod

Today I had a marathon session. Honestly, this was the longest I have ever spent with one subject. Actually there were two - NEWBORN TWINS! This could be the sweetest, feistiest, most adorable set of girls I have ever met. They were fighters too. Of course, they had to be. Little preemies who have been scrapping every day since they entered this world. Neither wanted to sleep for me. But, naturally Miss Liz won. She always does.

Are these not the cutest hats you have ever seen? I must give two thumbs up to the wonderful ladies at Wilmington’s own Hansel and Gretel. They helped me find exactly what I needed for this session. Best boutique in the area for fine children’s clothing. They have been around since this dinosaur herself was a kiddo.

Congratulations mom and dad! Thank you for the opportunity of capturing a small slice in the lives of these precious miracles. Many more images to come!
