Studio Closing July 24 - August 7

The McCormick’s have reached the beach for some well deserved rest, relaxation and family time. I am sitting here listening to the waves crash and enjoying an ice cold Corona. Don’t think I could be any more mellow at the moment.

Following our week of vacation, I’m headed to the East Coast School of Professional Photography in Raleigh, NC to study with Tony Corbell (he is the man). I still have 2 terrific weddings to blog from last weekend, but sorry fans I’ll get to those upon my return.

Ahh, time for another hooch…

Bugs and Boys

Usually a most righteous combination, but not on this day. It was muggy out with rain threatening in the distance and gnats galore. But we perservered and got some outstanding images of four young gentlemen and their parents. Each is brimming with his own unique personality. Plus they definitely gave me a work out! Yay - I got a group picture and no one blinked!Lightening McQueen used to be king in our house as well. Sadly my gang has moved onto older kid games (I do not understand Bakugan at all).Drum rool please… Here’s the whole gang. What a wonderful family!See ya! Thanks for a fun afternoon. More images on the way.

Mr. Perfect

I had the pleasure of having another newborn in front of my lens. This little man was perfect in every way. All of his tiny features were flawless and he slept like a champ for me. At 10 days old he was even giving his folks a long stretch of sleep at night. Every parents dream!Big brother and sister could not be any prouder of the new addition! There is no doubt that this baby has a wonderful family who loves him dearly.Even though Mr. Perfect was the star of the show I had to take the siblings out for some one-on-one time. Big brother just hit double digits and needed to have that 10 year old portrait. Sorry dad, but sister is growing into quite a beauty as well.More images to come. Don’t blink or that newborn will be a toddler!

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

Well, we finally had a winner of a day for this session after being rained out and then another reschedule for your typical kidlet bug. These lovely ladies are also the winners of an auction donation for a great cause. I seriously won’t be suprised when Lilly Pulitzer calls me asking for their models back. These girls are gorgeous!Big sister was a natural in front of the camera. However, none of my usual tricks were working on the younger sister, little Miss Sassy Pants! She was so serious, but I did manage to squeak out a few smiles.I have a bit of a foot fetish and think it’s funny that we were all wearing the same color nail polish.Catch you on the flip side! More images to come.

Miracle

Newborn sessions always make me marvel and the miracle of a brand new life. This little darling was no exception. She is absolute perfection and her parents naturally beamed with joy! What a sweet, sweet angel.Big sister was so proud and is looking forward to all the adventures they will be having together! She is going to be an excellent mommy’s helper.See mom, I did catch a smile! I’m sure there will be lots more smiles in this special family. I hope you enjoyed the sneak peek!

The Golden One

Today we celebrated another birthday in the McCormick family. And it’s what my gang refers to as the very special “Golden Birthday”. Which means that Kiera turned 6 on July 6th. We had a party with 12 little (but loud and silly) girls. The classic game of musical chairs and chase the brothers were the favorite activities! Here she is with her favorite gift of the day. Thanks Liadin!I tend to get sentimental and sappy on birthdays. We were reminiscing at breakfast this morning about the day she was born. They love to hear the rushing to the hospital story. Well, Kiera turns to me and says, “You know I’m not a baby anymore Mommy, but I’ll always be YOUR baby.” I can’t help but love this kid!

Oh No - The Big Four O!

Egad, I had a milestone birthday last week. I am now exactly 40 years and one week old. YIKES! I usually don’t have a problem with birthdays, but for some reason I have been dreading this one (George, my friend can relate). It’s a whole new decade, half my life is half over, it’s going all too fast, yada, yada, yada…

Well, the great guy I am married to saw the tension it was giving me, and instead of throwing me a mortifying party, whisked me away for a long weekend in Puerto Rico. Plus he gave me a new camera! There are certain moms (Michelle in particular) who always send me snaps of all the school events I miss out on because I am too lazy to lug my pro gear around. For tech geeks, it’s a sweet Canon G10 and has all my pro settings in a more portable size. Yippie! Here are a few images from my trip. This was the view from our hotel room. We got plenty of rest, sun and mojitos of course! What a wonderful place to visit. Thanks Grammy & Pop Pop, for watching the little monsters for us! I guess being 40 isn’t quite so bad.
