Memorial Day 2009

Today is the day to remember all the U.S. men and women who have died while in military service. And the unofficial start of summer!

The McCormicks reached the beach for the holiday and I took the weekend off from photographing. I left my camera gear at home on purpose. However, my iphone just happens to have a built in camera and here’s a few of my own personal mommy moments. Those Mario Brothers and company are pretty cool in our house. Now I’m off to do my 5th load of laundry! Hope you all were able to enjoy some family time as well.

Ta Da - Wrapping Up First Communions

Phew, I survived First Communion season. It was a whirlwind, but I enjoyed photographing each and every kiddo for their special day. Yesterday I had a gang that has been in front of my camera on numerous occasions. Mom is my personal decorator and the creative genius behind Mixed Greens Village, a great place for learning how to use our resources wisely. But today is was all about my buddy Miss Kate. Isn’t she gorgeous!?!Of course we had to get big sister and little brother in a few shots as well as the entire family. They have so much fun together and always make me smile! Grandma and Grandpa were in town for a visit and I was able to catch a special moment with the wild man!Monkeys do like trees! Congratulations Kate.

Little Miss Freckles

I’m back…shooting again after a whole week of rain, blech! Yesterday I was fortunate to have the lovely Bridget in front of my camera for her First Holy Communion. And boy can I relate to those gorgeous freckles! Mine have faded with age (getting old is a double blech), but they make me smile all the same.  Bridget was very shy while we captured her in that very special dress made by grandmom from mom’s wedding gown. Some families are just chock full of talent! However, Bridget got down right spunky once she changed into play clothes.Yup, we had the whole family present for the sesssion. Little brother Matthew is just as cute as can be and big brother, Derek, is growing into quite a handsome gentleman. We were at my favorite park and I simply had to get the entire family in this spot. I love how their clothes pick up the colors in bloom. Check out Bridget’s sneakers. My shoes of choice are flip flops, but I also dig a great pair of Chuck Taylors!More images to come. Hope you enjoyed this sneak peek!

Pudge Again

After all the First Communion sessions I have been doing it was time to turn the camera on one of my own. Brian has certainly had a streak of celebrations! Of course on his big day it rained and we were running late - the neighbors must have laughed at the sight of me balancing in heels to stay in a dry spot and capture him. But it was worth the effort. I am a bit biased, but Brian is one handsome devil with quite a bit of charm! We spent a pleasant afternoon celebrating with family and friends. Congratulations Pudge!
