Up for the Challenge

For this session the kiddos were almost 2, barely 2 and 4 - talk about a handful! Brother, sister + cousin each with their own unique personalities. All adorable! My goal was to capture all 3 together looking happy and in the same general direction. Mission accomplished. Naturally, I had to photograph each child individually as well.I was a pleasure meeting all of you. I hope you enjoyed the sneak peek! Many more images to come…

Fabulous Family

I took a break from chasing little ones and had a wonderful family with teenagers in front of my camera. It was fun for me to play with my lenses I don’t always get the opportunity to use. These two are so handsome and I hear they are quite the musicians as well!Mom & Dad are pretty cool too! Nice to meet all of you. Hope you enjoy that last week of summer!

Sun, Sand and a Hurricane

I headed to beach for this session and the weather was absolutely lovely. A light breeze with not even a hint of rain. The “Hurricane” was personified in my 2 year old subject. I can relate to this adorable, yet active little man - my own boys were quite the tasmanian devils at this age as well! Sweet sister was a big help trying to wrangle little brother and she even caught him for a brief moment. Doesn’t this family belong on the cover of a Lilly Pulitzer catalog!

The Hurricane is outta here! It was a pleasure meeting such a wonderful family and I truly enjoyed the excuse to play on the beach.

Down By the Bay

Where the watermelons grow, back to my home, I dare not go. For if I do, my mother will say….  Did you ever see a whale with a polka dot tail?

Sorry, I couldn’t resist breaking out in a song from my camp Quoowant days. My last session was down on the Sassafras River and it is a breathtakingly gorgeous place. My subject matter isn’t too hard on the eyes either. I last photographed this family 4 years ago when the oldest was headed off to college. Now they are about to take the baby and become empty nesters - gasp! Mom & dad also have a milestone anniversary and their lovely daughters surprised them with this session. Go on, say it - awww!Having grown up with brothers, I can only stare longingly at the wonderful bond these sister have. Happy 25th anniversary mom and dad! Safe travels as you all go off in different directions.

Adios Amigos

Elizabeth McCormick Photography will be closed from July 17th until August 2nd, 2010. However, I will not be stacking off in my time away from this dang computer. First stop will be Raleigh, NC to the Professional Photographers of America East Coast School. I am studying with Tom and Mario Munoz, wedding photographers extraordinaire! Then after a quick visit home, I’m off again to my next workshop with Karen Carey. Karen is a fine art photographer who shoots with film - wicked cool! I hope my brain can hold all the new info I’ll be learning. Finally, I’ll be reaching the beach with my family who will surely be missing me (and vice versa).

Happy Summer!

Lovely Morning

Most of my sessions are held in the late afternoon. However, we were all up nice and early in hopes to beat the heat & sun. After a reschedule in the fall due to illness and a reschedule in the summer due to weather, we were certainly going to make this day work! I had the most wonderful family for subject matter and they got me out of my morning run this day. Can’t say I didn’t make up for it in keeping pace with this silly twosome!

First up, the ever so handsome big brother…

Don’t you just love how even sister bracelets are completely coordinated?

Hope you enjoyed your delicious breakfast afterward! So happy I was finally able to capture this fabulous family.

Puppy Love

I can not think of a more wonderful combination than a 9 & a half year old girl (can’t forget that very important 1/2) and a 9 week old puppy! The pup is a Schnoodle - part Schnauzer and part Poodle. The young lady is 100% adorable. Both were on their very best behavior and we had a fun-filled afternoon despite the heat. I swear I might melt one of these days. It was a pleasure meeting you! Stay cool. I have many more images to come…

Not in Kansas Anymore (at Least for a Week Anyway)

It was fabulous to see my brother and his family over the holiday weekend. Unfortunately, they are a plane flight away so visits are infrequent. My daughter had a blast squealing and giggling with her cousins (yes, it was quite loud). Naturally, I had to have my nieces and nephew in front of my camera.

Good to see you guys. Wish you’d move to the East Coast!

So Shy

Yet so cooperative. This session was amazing! These kiddos are 8, 4 & 2 which usually means extremely limited attention spans and ability to follow directions. Nope, not for this family! They were all business and did all of the crazy things I asked of them without question. Big brother hardly said a peep, but his handsomeness just shouted at me. Red heads always brighten my day!Little sister was quite the spunky one and so stinking cute! Love her nail polish.I have never met a more easy going little man. He was fast asleep upon arriving to the session. Woke up happy and giggled throughout the session.A jolly good time! Hope you enjoyed your sneak peek. Many more images to come…

Summer of ‘69

It’s always fun to learn a little about my amazing subjects and what makes them tick. I often sing the theme songs to the kiddie programs of the moment. However, this young fellow is wise beyond his years with impeccable taste in 80’s music. I belted out my best, yet rather off key, version of Bryan Adams. Boy did we have fun!Little brother is quite the charmer himself. I made the mistake of calling him a three-year-old! No way, he is most definitely four! Mom and dad were fabulous as well - lots of love in this family! Since I am a teeny, tiny photography studio (yup, it’s a one chick show) I rely on word-of-mouth for my business. This wonderful family came from a referral from an old, dear friend. We go back as far as first grade! Dawn, we MUST catch up over a cup of coffee or a shake at the Pit!
